Just Browsing

I went to the bead shop yesterday. I only went because I was in that part of town and I thought maybe I could use a new pendant. One pendant, that's all. Or, at least that's what I told myself.

But, then I started browsing and found these incredibly cool agate beads, and then some more... I was pretty good, even so. I was able to restrain myself and only get two necklaces worth of beads.

It's funny when I talk to my English major friends about bookstores. They tend to say the same thing about bookstores as I say about bead shops. It's impossible to walk in and not walk out with something. There's no such thing as just looking.

Hello Carly, I sell through etsy, too, at mwmdesigns.etsy.com. You have some lovely things in your shop and I'll "heart" you!

Ah bead stores! I have a favorite and, despite the fact that I always buy more than I go in for, I find that not just looking, but also holding the beads in my hand is a tactile pleasure like no other. I often buy beads not having a clue what I'll do with them, but I love having a "stash" to rummage through when I'm looking for an idea.

Hi M. It's Ali, actually. Nice to meet you. Stashes are essential beader equipment, for sure.

Bonnie - I know exactly what you mean :)

Carly-I have to say a bead stash must be maintained, like a garden. There is pruning to do and mulch and new plants and seeds must be added periodically to keep it just right...have fun with that pendant!
